We put in your cd around Victorville on our drive back to Utah. We were my sister-in-law, her five year old and eighteen month old, and my two girls. They loved Lolli’s rainbow, then the pirate song came on. We listened to that so many times they absolutely loved it. We finally had to say we weren’t going to do it again until we heard some more. The vacuum cleaner one was a hit and they really liked the mermaid one. Kate said the last one almost makes her cry, and we all like the tooth fairy one especially because its about Robben’s tooth!

My Comment - Part Two! I'm popping back in to add to my prior comment. (Ya know how the more you listen to something, the more it grows on you!) Love, love, love "I love My Shadow" -- a jazzy and precious tune ("Feel like huggin' Mommy -- My shadow hugs her, too.") And the lyrical "Lolli's Rainbow" is adorable and educational (teaching colors and days of the week!). (Warning: Hard to get this catchy tune out of your head!) "Fat Cat" is all about a kitty growing up into a fat cat, which my toddler loves to "meow" to. (This song better be a metaphor for baby growing up, otherwise Mommy is getting choked up for nothing! "You'll always be a kitty that needed me.") "Terry's Garden" -- same problem, precious and fun song for kiddies, but Mommy gets choked up ("On the monkey bars going al the way".. "Gonna spread my wings and fly.."). Ditto for "Tooth Fairy." And don't get me started on "Can you Imagine" about thinking about how other kids feel and being a nicer friend. (You got it -- Mommy gets choked up!) I better stop listening. Thank God for the "The Freeze" (a freeze dance!) or I'd be hysterical crying! Never mind sappy ol' me -- this is a very fun, upbeat and cheerful CD! (I just have terminal nostalgia.) By the way, for you "elite ears," I have it on good musician authority that this CD is extremely well recorded! Anyway, FIVE STARS!! Go git some Moonfood for you and the kids!!

We Love you Leslie!! Moon Food rides with us in the car wherever we go. Kamilla's favorites are Horsey, Horsey and Lolli's Rainbow Ants.
Mitchell loves Vance the Vaccume and Pirates, (my personal favorite.."ssshaarp!")
Please get your 'Porcupine' CD out there, it is a great one for the adults to enjoy! You have an amazing gift and so grateful to be apart of it!
Love, Monika and Family*

Although this has nothing to do with "Moon Food", I did want to drop a line and tell you that one of my favourite songs is your hauntingly beautiful "Bittersweet"

Maddie

December 27, 2005

My name is Maddie and I am 7 years old. This is my review of "Moon Food".

Here are my favorite songs:

1. I'm a Pirate

I like when he says "I'm a pirate, so be quiet, and I'll stab you in the back".
I like his voice how it is very deep. And you don't want to mess with me.

2. Fat Cat

I like when she says "you're a fat cat now". I like the details she says about her fat cat and how its claws go in her hair. I like how she said it could sit in her hand. I like how she wrote the song.

3. Vance the Vacum Cleaner

I like how he said he makes a "mighty roar". I like how he says "I don't suck up anybody" and "but I'm allergic to dust", and he sneezes. I like how she wrote the song.

4. I'm a Little Seed

I like how all the kids copy her. I like when she says "and I start to grow". It reminds me of how I start to grow a seed. I like when she says "I'm a beautiful seed, look at me".

This CD is amazing! Leslie Bixler's voice is soothing, comforting... and happy! The variety is great -- lot of hills and valleys to keep the tots interested. Dick Van Dyke is too good as the "pirate" and "Vance the Vacuum Cleaner" -- who wouldn't you know it... is alleric to dust! (Now that's kiddie comedy!) Caution: the pirate song could be a bit spooky at first, especially your child doesn't know what a pirate is, so I suggest densitizing with a funny pirate book, so kiddies will see the humor and not be spooked.) "The Seed" is an awesomely calming song for children to stretch and move to. Ingenius! (A great pre-nap or post-nap song!) And I love, love, love the "Horsie" song. This CD could not be more adorable! Your babies and kids will love it. Mine does! I am buying a few more copies as gifts and to donate to my child's daycare. I wish you were in New York so we could see you in person! This is truly a class kiddie act -- right down to the cover!
