Leslie Bixler: Big People Music

Leslie Letven's (me) "Make It "Right" CD lives on! - March 24, 2009

I've been getting so many requests and letters about my previous adult cd "Make it Right" The fan letters are awesome. I am trying to find the remaining copies to sell..but meanwhile there are 17 left on cd baby if you check under my former name Leslie Letven. This jazzy, sultry cd refuses to be put to sleep as it's dreamy soft mood seems right for now as well as anytime. So stay tuned for more info and keep looking for it on cd baby!

What's up with "PORCUPINE"? - March 24, 2009

This blurb was written for cd baby:

Leslie Bixler first released a nationwide album entitled “Make It Right” on SinDrome Records under her maiden name“Leslie Letven”. Popular in the jazz/pop market, her album reached #12 on the radio charts and continues to get airplay to this day. She follows this up with a more rock-based singer/songwriter album called “Porcupine” which takes an introspective and sometimes bluesy turn and embraces themes from adoption to infidelity, from the early Joni Mitchell-esque guitar-centered “Porcupine” and “Just Business”, to the soulful feel of “Going Through the Motions” to the classic beauty of “Home Again” and “Toasting the Moon”. “Porcupine” is an intensely personal album with lots of musical sophistication and variety, showing new dimensions of Bixler’s personality and talent as singer and songwriter.
Produced by herself and husband Bill Bixler, “Porcupine” features the best in musicianship: delightful guitar work by Daris Atkins and Phil Wimer, keyboards by Wayne Jones, bass by David Enos, and drums by Tony Morales, Steve Samuel, and Hud Bixler. Luscious background vocals are provided by Debi Ruud and Phil Wimer. Pedal steel guitar on “Home Again” and “Toasting the Moon” is by Jerry Barnett.
“Porcupine” is a timeless gem that speaks of themes from the heart and soars musically. Bixlers musical roots come together to create a truly unique landscape that you will want to visit time and time again.

Why is the cd with Chad taking so long you ask? - March 24, 2009

Yes, there is another amazing kids' cd on its way but like anything worthwhile, good things take time. This CD train/ride is guaranteed to make you giggle, smile, and guffaw out loud when you hear Chad acting like a little rascal and notice his very amazing drumming all the way through, which is beyond the level of any drumming you've heard before! Seriously! So keep waiting. It will be worth it!

Music for you grownups! - March 24, 2009

This section is going to be devoted to my grownup music (I'm avoiding the word "adult" as it has connotations..)
I have a first CD released on a label
called "Make It Right" under my name LESLIE LETVEN and am currently getting the rights to re-release it. It still gets played on the radio after 16 years..

I also have a self-published singer/songwriter album called "Porcupine" which you can purchase through CD baby by going to links on this site or just cd baby.

I'm working on adding all my previous albums to this section of my site and there will be lots of never heard before "grownup" material! (Eventually a site devoted specifically for that will have to be built) but for now I am responding to all the fan mail that is finding me miraculously through places like Face Book and this website and myspace, etcetera! Thanks for finding me and asking for more music. I've got it and plan to deliver it to you ASAP!
